Triumph for The Yews Parking

Double Yellows on the Yews

Naveed Alam & Councillor Sarah Dickinson at The Yews

An extension to parking restrictions on The Yews is in the pipeline, following a campaign by the Yews Harvard Residents Association and local Grange Ward Lib Dem Councillor Sarah Dickinson.

The County Council will shortly undertake the work, which will mean the end of double parking in the area and greater safety for pedestrians.

Weekly Refuse Collections & A Cleaner Borough

The Liberal Democrat majority on Oadby and Wigston Borough Council are committed to a clean well maintained environment.

All streets in the borough are swept at least once every eight weeks. Town centres, areas around schools and other hot spots are swept daily. In the town centres, around schools and other hot spots litter will be picked twice daily. Litter is unsightly and can quickly build up if not removed.

We will continue to collected household refuse every week and have developed recycling as an asset  to the Borough that generates £800m a year to invest in local services.
