Beat The Graffiti

The repainted post box

The Royal Mail have repainted their post box to remove the graffiti

The Oadby Lib Dem Focus Team have reported graffiti on a post box and traffic sign in the Howden Road area of Brocks Hill to the Royal Mail and County Council respectively. Royal Mail have repainted the post box and the County Council have cleaned up the sign.

Graffiti is unsightly and if no action is taken, more can appear.

Oadby & Wigston Borough Council are responsible for removing graffiti from public buildings, monuments and some public property. Road signs are the responsibility of Leicestershire County Council.

Some privately owned street furniture like bus shelters and electricity boxes are the responsibility of the company that placed them there but the council can take action to make sure these are cleaned.

The council can also remove graffiti from private property with the owner’s permission although a charge will be made for this service.

If you want to report graffiti, please contact the Council’s Client Services on Leicester (0116) 257 2830, use Oadby & Wigston Council’s online form or  contact Oadby Lib Dems.
