Oadby no-fly zone?
Local residents are becoming increasingly concerned about the number of pleasure/ training flights circling the skies of Oadby from the nearby Leicester Airport. Your Oadby Liberal Democrat councillors have held meetings in the past with the airport but things seem to be getting worse.
Flight routes over Oadby are understood to have been set in the 1950s. In the sixty years since then, Oadby has grown massively. Residents are complaining about noise and safety issues resulting from so many flights over a built up are.
Oadby Liberal Democrats would like see flight routes changed so that they take place over the open countryside that lies close to the airport. We would like Oadby and Wigston Borough Council to meet with the Civil Aviation Authority to insist on a review of flight routes.
Naveed Alam and your local Liberal Democrat councillors would like your views on this issue. Please let them know what you think using our Contact Form.
